(English text follows) – Depuis quelques mois, la Ville de Hudson partage des infos sur cette plateforme découlant des séances du conseil municipal. En raison de la pandémie de la COVID-19 qui perdurent, les séances se déroulent à huis clos et par vidéoconférence. Les citoyens peuvent désormais assister en direct à l’entièreté des séances et même participer lors des périodes de questions via la plateforme Zoom dont les accès sont partagés sur la page Facebook Ville de Hudson quelques avant chaque rencontre. La vidéo de chaque séance demeure aussi accessible sur Facebook.
De nombreux points étaient à l’ordre du jour de la séance du lundi 5 octobre, dont plusieurs concernaient l’urbanisme et de nouvelles constructions unifamiliales sur les rues Maple et Main. Parmi les autres points à l’ordre du jour et adoptés par le Conseil, mentionnons une demande pour un tournage de film des Productions Incendo (un 2e tournage en autant de mois à Hudson), en lien avec la pandémie une modification temporaire des heures de bureaux à l’Hôtel de Ville, ainsi qu’une restructuration administrative.
Le renouvellement du contrat d’assurances collectives de la Ville a aussi été discuté et adopté. La réorganisation de l’organigramme de la municipalité continue et devrait être finalisée sous peu. Parmi les modifications présenté, il y a la réorganisation du service de traitement des eaux et par ricochet, l’octroi d’un contrat pour la gestion et l’opération des usines de traitement des eaux usées et la production d’eau potable, ainsi qu’une option de renouvellement du contrat de services pour la patrouille communautaire.
Soulignons qu’un mandat supplémentaire a été octroyé à la firme Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton (RCGT) pour une évaluation approfondie du service des loisirs et de relations communautaires.
Enfin, une modification au règlement d’emprunt #505, qui traine depuis plusieurs années, est apportée afin de mieux aligner le règlement selon les attentes du Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation (MAMH). Le fondement de la taxation finale de ce règlement est maintenant en train de se concrétiser. Avec la taxation, la Ville de Hudson va enfin compléter ce dossier qui traîne depuis 2014 afin de satisfaire les normes comptables.
La période des questions de la séance du 5 octobre a aussi permis au maire Jamie Nicholls et au Conseil municipal de répondre aux questions envoyées par les citoyens par courriel. Rappelons que les séances mensuelles sont enregistrées et diffusées sur la page Facebook Ville de Hudson. D’ailleurs il faut rappeler aux citoyens intéressés de participer au processus des séances du conseil municipal que vous pouvez chaque mois faire parvenir vos questions par écrit jusqu’à 19 h 30 le jour de la séance. Il suffit de soumettre vos questions par courriel ([email protected]) ou dans la boîte aux lettres à l’Hôtel de Ville.

Urban Planning, filming and more at the Town Council Meeting
For a few months now, the Town of Hudson has shared information from Town Council meetings using this platform. Due to the lingering pandemic, Council meetings will continue to be held in-camera and by videoconference. Citizens may now join the live broadcast of those meetings and participate to the question period via Zoom, access is shared on the Facebook Ville de Hudson page before each meeting. A video of each meeting is also available on Facebook.
Many items were on the Monday, October 5th agenda, including Urban Planning and new single-family constructions on Maple and Main Road. Amongst other points on the agenda and adopted by Council are a request to shoot a film from Incendo Productions (a second film shoot as many months in the Town of Hudson), a temporary modification of office hours at Town Hall as well as an administrative reorganization.
The Town’s group insurance renewal was also discussed and adopted. Modifications to the Town’s organizational structure is ongoing and should be finalized soon. Among the modifications presented, a reorganization of the water treatment department and, as a result, the awarding of a contract for the management and operation of water treatment and wastewater treatment plants, as well as the renewal of the community patrol service contract.
It should also be noted that an additional mandate was awarded to Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton (RCGT) for an in-depth evaluation of the Recreation Department and community relations.
Finally, after many years, an amendment to Loan By-Law #505 was adopted in accordance with the Ministry of municipal affairs and housing (MAMH) expectations. The final taxation basis of this loan by-law is now being realised. The Town of Hudson will finally complete this taxation file, which has been dragging on since 2014, in order to meet accounting standards.
The October 5th meeting question period gave Mayor Jamie Nicholls and Council the opportunity to answer citizens’ questions which were sent by email. Also, we wish to remind citizens who want to participate to the Council meeting process to send their questions in writing until 7:30 pm on the Town Council meeting day.
